The Wind-Down.
A bedtime ritual that feels like a five-star hotel
Five-star hotels don't have magic beds. They have rituals. Dim lights, cool sheets, nothing to do. You can steal all of it.
- Pick a bedtime and keep it. Same time most nights, weekends included.
- Dim the lights an hour before. Lamps instead of ceiling lights. Your body notices.
- Put the phone to bed first. Charge it outside the bedroom if you can.
- Make the room cold and dark. A fan, breathable sheets, blackout curtains.
- Have a warm shower. Warm, not scalding. Then step into a cool room.
- Something warm to sip. Caffeine-free herbal tea is perfect.
- Write down tomorrow. A quick list gets the to-dos out of your head and onto paper.
- Keep your ritual on the nightstand. A book, a candle you blow out, your favorite things. Ours includes Lights Out, our melatonin-free sleep strip in its crescent-moon case.
And if sleep has been hard for a while, talk to your doctor. You deserve good nights.
Lights out, goddess, deia
